ST. PETER' S OUTREACH

Local Outreach seeks to support local individuals and families in crises who need assistance. St. Peter’s Annual Art Show in July is the principal fundraiser for Local Outreach support. For the safety of our artists and guests we will be holding this event while following local and CDC COVID-19 guidelines. Click here to read more about the Art Show.

Global Outreach responds to situations and events around the world. The Mission and Outreach Committee is committed to engaging lay leadership in both 'hands on' action as well as financial support for communities in need and/or organizations that provide help for those in need. Our goal is to send out the caring spirit of our St. Peter's family both locally and globally to relieve suffering and promote justice. We welcome everyone whose heart is moved by those in need due to poverty, disaster, disease, warfare, and other hardships to join us in these efforts; contact our chair, Michelle Norelli

St. Peter’s Mission & Outreach Committee Challenges You to a Match!

The M&O Committee is supporting a program called Shoes That Fit. Through its Delaware Chapter, this national program provides new shoes to school-aged children. You can read more about the program on the DoMore24 website.

Here’s our challenge to you: the M&O Committee will donate $1,020 to Shoes That Fit, which is enough for 34 pairs of shoes (at $30 each). We challenge the congregation of St. Peter’s Church to match (perhaps even exceed) that amount, ultimately providing at least 68 pairs of shoes to high school students in our two local districts, Cape Henlopen and Indian River.

Our challenge runs through the month of July so that we can provide our funds in time for Shoes That Fit to meet the needs of students entering the 2024-2025 school year in September.

Donations can be made online via the Parish website, through the offering plate, or by stopping at the Church Office with your monetary donation. Please specify “Shoes That Fit Challenge” on the memo line of your check or in the “This donation is for” block on the website.

NOTE: we are collecting a monetary donation; Shoes That Fit volunteers will purchase and distribute the shoes.
