This summer, the Diocesan Youth Advisors have reserved two tables at the Dover Pride Festival on June 10th, representing not only the Episcopal Church in Delaware, but involving our youth. There will be clergy from around the state, several youth leaders, and we would love to have your youth participate. The adults will be welcoming and engaging attendees, as well as fielding questions about our faith. Adjacent to them, we will have a table just for our youth, with a keychain making activity for them to lead, and cute tchotchkes to distribute. This is a super fun, family-friendly event. There will be music, dancing, delicious food trucks, bags full of swag, and an atmosphere of love and acceptance. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend with their youths. In order for the youths to participate, however, they must have a signed permission slip. Turning that slip in before May 20th ensures that we will have enough snacks and pizza, and will also include a free t-shirt. So, RSVP pronto! Christ Church Dover will serve as our home base, and is a 5-minute walk from the event. They will provide parking for us, as well as a place to take breaks. We will be providing drinks, snacks, and pizza for lunch, and there will be a wide variety of food vendors. This event runs 10am-5pm. There has already been a ton of interest, so even if your youth is the only one from your parish, please know that they will be in good company among other youths from around the diocese; this is an opportunity for them to meet some of their extended faith family!
