parish life at st. peter's

St. Peter's is a very active church and the success of our parish events are the result of the efforts and participation of many wonderful volunteers.

Volunteers are always welcome at all parish events. It is a great way to meet other members of your faith community and a satisfying way to be involved, so please participate in any way you can. See below the many ways our members volunteer.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.

  • An Introduction to Anglican Spirituality

Have you ever wanted to know more about our heritage as Christians in the Anglican tradition?  To explore some of the mystics and visionaries who have nurtured the spiritual life of our common life?  Beginning on Tuesday, November 9 @ 10am, a new class will be starting to explore the writings of 29 significant thinkers including folks like, George Herbert, Thomas Cranmer, Dorothy Sayers, and Desmond Tutu.  The class will last about 12-15 session and be available on Zoom.  This class is especially appropriate for folks who have completed EfM, but that is NOT required.  Our text will be Glorious Companions: five centuries of Anglican Spirituality by the Rev. Richard Schmidt.  It can be ordered on Amazon or through the Church Office when you call to sign up.  Any questions, please feel free to speak to Fr. Ross.

  • lenten series

Each Wednesday during the Lenten season, we meet for a soup supper and fellowship. There is a theme for discussion which is held after the meal, attended by about 25 people.

  • foyer groups

Foyer Groups is the name of our dinner groups which consist of 8 to 12 people. We typically have about 75 participants. It is a great way to get to know your church family.

  • altar flowers

Altar flowers are provided weekly by our parishioners through a local florist. The altar flower dedication request form is printed in the December newsletter. You may call the office or email if you would like to know if a particular date is available. We recommend submitting your dedication as early as possible as dates can fill quickly. A maximum of two families can sponsor flowers for any Sunday except Easter and Christmas, when we invite unlimited dedications. Flowers are not used on the altar during Lent and we use greenery only during Advent so those weeks are not available. Names of givers and of those honored, remembered or celebrated are printed in the weekly service bulletins.

We would like to thank Jim and the staff of Windsor's Florist for the beautiful arrangements delivered every week.

  • Blessings

The congregation looks forward to receiving blessings for their birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

  • picnic

Inspirational speakers offer a diversified variety of topics. The series is attended by many from the surrounding community who enjoy free ice cream and fellowship after each presentation.
